Education Aims to Nurture Latent Talent in Every Human: Bidhan Ranjan

Khulna: Adviser to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, emphasized today that the true purpose of education is to nurture and develop the latent talents inherent in every individual. Speaking as the chief guest at a views-exchange meeting titled ‘Role of Stakeholders in Enhancing the Quality of Primary Education’ at the Khulna District Shilpakala Academy auditorium, Dr. Poddar highlighted the significance of education in shaping responsible and capable members of society.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Poddar pointed out that both curricular and co-curricular activities are integral to a child’s moral, intellectual, and logical development. He underscored the essential role of primary education in helping children achieve linguistic fluency and basic numeracy skills. He also mentioned that schools could enhance their performance by learning from successful institutions and emphasized the importance of mixed-ability classrooms that promote peer learning.



Dr. Poddar further noted that incorporating cultural activities can make education more joyful and engaging. He urged teachers to exhibit both organizational and academic leadership, setting themselves as role models for the students. The event also featured Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Abu Taher Md. Masud Rana, Director of Planning and Development Mirajul Islam Ukil, and Khulna Deputy Commissioner Md. Toufiqueur Rahman as special guests.



Acting Divisional Commissioner of Khulna Md. Firoz Shah presided over the meeting, while Khulna Divisional Deputy Director of Primary Education Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam delivered the welcome address. District Primary Education Officer of Khulna Sheikh Ohidul Alam, Bagerhat District Primary Education Officer Nasreen Akhter, and Satkhira Assistant Upazila Education Officer Md. Mozzaffor Uddin presented papers on various aspects of improving education quality.



Later, Dr. Poddar briefed journalists on the outcomes of the discussion. The event was attended by head teachers, assistant teachers, and officials from government primary schools across Khulna, Bagerhat, and Satkhira districts, organized by the Khulna Primary Education Department.
