Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has called on all officials and employees involved in the election process to be vigilant against fraudsters ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press release from the EC revealed that a group of fraudsters has been attempting to collect Bkash numbers from election officials by falsely promising election-related honoraria. The fraudsters have been contacting officials using two specific phone numbers: 01342046232 and 01612677074.
The EC has confirmed that election officials will receive their honoraria through their respective presiding officers in accordance with the established rules. There is no requirement for officials to engage with any other person or organization for this purpose.
The Commission has specifically instructed all officials to ignore calls from these fraudsters and to stay alert to prevent any such fraudulent activities.
