Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has scheduled a meeting for March 31 to develop proposals and recommendations aimed at ensuring that the names of deceased voters are removed from the electoral roll on a continuous basis throughout the year.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the information was revealed in a notice issued today, signed by EC Senior Assistant Secretary Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury. The notice specifies that the meeting will commence at 4:00 pm at the Election Building, with the Director General of the National Identity Registration Wing presiding over the session.
The agenda of the meeting includes discussions on establishing a year-round mechanism to promptly update the voter list by removing deceased individuals. The meeting will also address other pertinent issues related to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the electoral roll.
