Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) Secretariat has announced the transfer of 52 additional officers in its ongoing administrative reshuffle as preparations intensify for the forthcoming 13th national polls. This decision, aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency, was formalized through a notification issued by EC Secretariat Assistant Secretary Mohammad Shahidur Rahman, following directives from the President.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the transferred officers are expected to vacate their current positions by August 6. Failure to do so will result in automatic release from their duties by August 7. Among the prominent changes, Election Officer Md Selim Reza has been moved from the District Election Office in Khulna to the Magura District Election Office. Similarly, acting Election Officer Nizam Uddin Ahmed has been transferred from the Madaripur Election Office to the Rajbari EC Office. The majority of those transferred hold positions as Upazila or Thana Election Officers.

This reshuffle is part of a broader strategy by the EC to ensure a smooth electoral process. On July 27, the EC had already transferred 71 officers, following an earlier transfer of 51 officers on July 15. These moves are indicative of the EC’s commitment to maintaining a fair and efficient electoral system in the lead-up to the national elections.
