Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has released a draft of the supplementary voter list across the country in preparation for the upcoming 13th general elections. This significant update was announced during a briefing held by Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhter Ahmed in front of Nirbachan Bhaban at Agargaon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, as of June 30, 2025, the total number of registered voters in the country has reached 12,61,70,900. This figure includes 6,40,06,916 male voters and 6,21,62,760 female voters. The voter inclusion rate for 2025 stands at 3.69 percent, while the growth rate of voters is 1.97 percent.
Akhter Ahmed highlighted that as of March 2, the number of voters was 12,37,32,274. Following this, a door-to-door campaign was conducted to register previously excluded voters, which resulted in the addition of 45,71,216 new voters to the updated list. Conversely, 21,32,590 voters were removed from the list due to death or other reasons.
The supplementary draft voter list has been made available in all commission offices, and individuals with corrections are encouraged to notify the EC. The final draft of the voter list is scheduled for release on August 31. Additionally, another list will be published on October 31, accommodating those who turn 18 by that date, a provision enabled by new legislation to prevent delays in voter registration.
The Commission plans to release a total of three voter lists this year, with the next publications set for August 31 and October 31, following the initial list released on March 2.
