Rajshahi: Election Commissioner Brig Gen (retd) Abul Fazal Muhammad Sanaullah has called upon district and upazila level Election Commission (EC) officials to compile an accurate voter list to facilitate a free, fair, and credible election. Addressing a meeting with EC officials at the Deputy Commissioner's office conference hall, he emphasized the importance of integrity and sincerity in ensuring that only eligible individuals are registered as voters.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, EC Additional Secretary KM Ali Newaj, Regional Election Officer Humayun Kabir, and Superintendent of Police Mosharraf Hossain also addressed the meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Saiful Islam. Commissioner Sanaullah underscored the necessity of maintaining impartiality while guaranteeing voting rights for the public.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of encouraging eligible individuals to register as voters, with a particular focus on ensuring women's inclusion in the voter list to prevent their exclusion from various civic services. He also highlighted the need to educate the public on the significance of voter registration as responsible citizens.
