Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has announced an extension of the deadline for expatriates to correct their foreign addresses using the Postal Vote BD mobile app. This decision was made following requests from expatriates residing in seven specific countries.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Election Commission Director (Public Relations) Ruhul Amin Mallick communicated this update in a special message today. The extension applies exclusively to expatriates in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain, who now have until 9 am on December 14 (Bangladesh time) to make necessary address corrections.
For expatriates in other countries, the opportunity for address correction will remain available until 9 am on December 9, maintaining the original deadline for these individuals. This targeted extension aims to accommodate the needs of expatriate voters in the mentioned countries, ensuring they have ample time to update their records accurately.
