Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has issued directives to divisional commissioners, regional election officers, all district administrators, and returning officers to appoint polling officers from neighboring upazilas for the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a notification was signed by Mohammad Monir Hossain, Deputy Secretary (Election Management-2 Branch) of the EC Secretariat, outlining these instructions. The notification confirmed that the 13th National Parliament Election is scheduled for February 12, 2026. It also stated that the relevant organizations are required to finalize the panel of polling officers by December 18, 2025, in alignment with the election policy.
The directive allows for the appointment of polling officers from nearby upazilas within their respective districts if no suitable polling officers are available in the concerned upazila. The notification emphasized the need for necessary actions to be taken in accordance with the decision.
