Earthquake Jolts Jashore and Surrounding Areas

Jashore: A 3.5-magnitude earthquake jolted Jashore and its adjoining areas today. The quake occurred at 2.27 pm, with its epicenter located in Monirampur, about 157 kilometers southwest of the BMD Seismic Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka, as reported by the Meteorological Department. Fortunately, no damage has been reported so far.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this event follows a series of seismic activities in the region. Earlier this month, a 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck Assam in India on September 14. This was followed by another tremor measuring 4.0 in magnitude, which occurred in Chatak, Sunamganj, in the Sylhet division on September 21.
