‘E-gate pass’ for Singha Durbar entry from mid-July

Kathmandu: 'E-gate pass' system will be introduced for entering the main administrative hub of the country, Singha Durbar from July 16 onwards. Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Home Ministry Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed the secretary-level meeting held on June 20 decided to cancel all temporary passes issued by the ministries. It is shared the Home Ministry will make necessary coordination to introduce the new entrance system. Spokesperson Bhattarai shared with the implementation of the new entry system, records of the visitors would be managed properly. Informing that the temporary passes issued by the ministries were found misused, now they are about to be cancelled, spokesperson Bhattarai said. The new entrance pass with QR codes will be used, he added According to the ministry, visitors should go to 'Singha Durbar Pass' website, create an account, enter an user ID and password, request it to online and fill up basic details to obtain gate pass.
