Chattogram: Electric cars (e-cars) have been launched on a trial basis on the Chattogram University (CU) campus to ensure environment-friendly and modern passenger services for students and visitors. CU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin stated that a total of four e-cars will operate on the campus for the next two days.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Kamal mentioned that if the trial proves successful, the passenger service will be officially launched with 20 e-cars from next June. The e-cars have been brought to the campus from an institution in Dhaka.
The university administration highlighted that the trial run will allow students to evaluate the service’s effectiveness and decide on its future implementation. If successful, the e-car service is expected to reduce environmental pollution and enhance internal transportation convenience on campus.
Opinions from students, teachers, and employees will be gathered during the trial period to assess the service’s feasibility and potential impact, as noted by Dr. Kamal.
