Rangpur: Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Commissioner Md Majid Ali has announced that this year's Durga Puja will be celebrated peacefully and in a festive atmosphere with the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in Rangpur city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Md Majid Ali made this statement while presiding over a meeting focused on law and order and security for the upcoming "Sharadiya Durga Puja-2025" at the RpMP conference hall. The meeting, held on Thursday afternoon, included important discussions on the security of Puja Mandap, maintenance of law and order, and public safety.
The attendees at the meeting comprised the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), leaders of Puja Udjavan Parishad and Puja Mandap Committee, officials from both government and private sectors, and representatives from the concerned police stations. The RpMP Chief emphasized the installation of CCTV cameras at each Puja Mandap, night patrolling, supervision by the Intelligence Branch, and coordination with the Fire Service and Electricity Department.
Volunteers have been instructed to alert the police immediately if any suspicious persons or activities are noticed. Additionally, cyber monitoring will be intensified to prevent the spread of rumors or propaganda, and traffic management will be strengthened to avoid congestion. Monitoring teams will be established at each Puja Mandap to ensure safety.
Md Majid Ali expressed optimism that with the joint efforts of the administration, Puja celebration committee, and the general public, the Durga Puja will be completed peacefully in a festive environment.
