Dhaka: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that every possible measure will be taken to ensure the Hindu Community can celebrate their largest religious festival, Durga Puja, in a festive and peaceful manner.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Adviser emphasized the importance of arranging the festival with due religious fervor, dignity, and holiness. He made these remarks while addressing journalists after a Core Committee meeting on law and order at the Home Ministry in Bangladesh Secretariat.
The Home Adviser reassured that the Durga Puja celebrations will proceed without any difficulties. “Durga Puja is knocking on the door. It is a religious festival. We have to maintain the holiness of the festival,” he said, urging the cooperation of all, including the media, to help celebrate the festival peacefully.
He further highlighted the collective responsibility to ensure that the Hindus can observe their Durga Puja in a well-organized and festive manner.
