Taherpur:A puja mandap in Taherpur, located within Bagmara Upazila of Rajshahi, has become a focal point for visitors due to a unique display during the Sharadiya Durga festival.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the highlight of the festival at the traditional Taherpur Sri Sri Gangamata Temple is a Durga idol fashioned from 10,000 golden-coin chocolates. The novel creation has attracted a significant number of visitors, eager to witness the innovative use of gold-colored coin chocolates in the idol's decoration.

The initiative was led by the local social organization Nabajagaran Sangha, with interest surging as images and videos of the idol circulated on social media. This has positioned the puja mandap in Haldarpara, Taherpur, as a major attraction in the Rajshahi region.

Dijen Haldar, General Secretary of the Taherpur Sri Sri Gangamata Temple Committee, explained that they strive to offer something novel to visitors each year during Durga Puja. Continuing this tradition, they decided to create the Durga idol with chocolates this year, at a cost of approximately 80,000 taka.

The main artist behind this exceptional idol is Nil Kumar Das, an idol artist from Natore, who skillfully utilized 10,000 coin-shaped chocolates to form the idol's attire. Shiben Haldar, President of the Temple Committee, remarked that the chocolate idol has introduced a new element of joy to this year's puja celebrations.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, the committee has implemented necessary measures.
