Dhaka: Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Niaz Ahmed Khan today sought cooperation from all quarters including the teachers, students, officials, and employees to ensure overall security of the campus.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the VC made this appeal in a meeting with the representatives of the officers and employees associations at his office today. Dhaka University Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed and acting registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahamad were present during the meeting.
The university administration is determined to ensure the overall security of the campus ahead of the DUCSU election, stated the VC. He emphasized that the concerned officials and employees must perform their duties with sincerity and honesty to maintain campus security.
A discussion was also held on forming a security coordination committee comprising representatives of associations and residential areas on the campus. The meeting concluded with a decision to take strict punitive action against anybody found involved in subversive activities or providing shelter to perpetrators of such activities.
