DU VC Meets Center for China Studies Delegation to Discuss Academic Collaboration

Dhaka: Executive Deputy Director of the Center for China Studies, Dr. Li Hongmei, paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam, today. Another Executive Deputy Director of the institution, Xu Shi Cheng, was also present at the meeting held at the VC’s office.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting focused on discussions around various issues of mutual interest, primarily preparations for an international conference scheduled for April 7 and 8. Both parties emphasized the participation of experts from Bangladesh and China, organizing different academic sessions, and strengthening research collaboration.



The discussions highlighted the mutual interest in expanding international cooperation in education and research. Both sides expressed eagerness to enhance faculty and student exchange programs and initiate joint research projects. The meeting also covered topics such as China-Bangladesh academic exchange programs, creating training opportunities for young researchers and students, and undertaking various joint initiatives in the future.



DU VC Professor Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration between Dhaka University and Chinese institutions, expressing hope for further expansion of such initiatives. Dr. Li Hongmei echoed this sentiment, showing interest in strengthening cooperation between the two institutions.
