Ajmeriganj: Two laborers were killed and another two injured after being struck by a thunderstorm while harvesting paddy in Ajmeriganj Shibpasha Haor area here in the district this noon. The deceased were Monirul Islam, 22, and Kapil Uddin, 45, of Mohonbag village under Chapainawabganj. They went to Habiganj for harvesting paddy as day-basis laborers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred when they were harvesting paddy at the Haor. A sudden thunderstorm struck the area, resulting in the death of two laborers on the spot and injuring two others.
Ajmeriganj Police Station officer-in-charge ABM Maidul Islam confirmed the incident.
