Dhaka: The Department of Philosophy of Dhaka University (DU), in collaboration with the Govinda Dev Centre for Philosophical Research and the Centre for Moral Development, celebrated World Philosophy Day-2025 with a comprehensive daylong programme. The event included a rally, a discussion, and a debate, engaging participants in philosophical discourse and reflection.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the discussion was presided over by Professor Md Nuruzzaman, Chairman of the Philosophy Department. The event saw the participation of several notable academics, including DU Arts faculty Dean Prof. Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, Director of the Centre for Moral Development Prof A K M Yunus, and faculty member Prof Shah Kawser Mustafa Abul Ulayi, who shared their insights with attendees.
A highlight of the programme was a keynote paper presentation by Prof Mohammad Daud Khan, titled “The Ethical and Logical Basis of Sustainable Business.” The presentation aimed to explore the philosophical underpinnings of sustainable business practices. The event also featured a welcome address delivered by Associate Prof Dr Tahmina Yasmin Shova, setting the tone for the day’s discussions and activities.
