DU Holds Procession Marking the Month of Victory.

Dhaka: The Dhaka University (DU) authorities on Sunday organized a vibrant procession on the university campus to mark the beginning of the month of victory. Vice-Chancellor of the university, Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan, inaugurated the program by releasing pigeons and balloons at the foot of Aparajeo Bangla on the campus. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the procession was led by the Vice-Chancellor and saw enthusiastic participation from teachers, students, and officials of the university. The event commenced from Aparajeo Bangla and concluded at the Smriti Chironton Square after passing through the TSC area. Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Sayema Haque Bidisha, along with senate and syndicate members, deans, hall provosts, directors, department heads, teachers, students, alumni, and staff of the university, joined the procession. Before the procession, Prof. Niaz Ahmed Khan paid his respects to the martyrs of the Liberation War and emphasized the importance of the recent July Uprising. In hi s address, he remembered the victims of the July movement and acknowledged the significant role played by the people of Bangladesh, particularly the students, in shaping a new Bangladesh. He urged the university community, including teachers, students, officers, and employees, to stay united and contribute to the country's progress. Following the procession, a cultural event featuring patriotic songs was organized by the university's music department on the campus.
