DU Fine Arts Faculty Commences Preparations for Bangla New Year 1433

Dhaka: Preparations for the celebration of Pahela Baishakh and Bangla New Year 1433 began today at the Faculty of Fine Arts of University of Dhaka. Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha inaugurated the preparation activities as the chief guest, according to a university press release.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Professor Dr. Md Azharul Islam Sheikh presided over the inaugural ceremony, while Ekushey Padak-winning artist Professor Dr. Abdus Sattar spoke as the special guest. Proctor Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, along with assistant proctors, faculty members, students, cultural figures, and artists, were present at the event.



Pro-VC Dr. Bidisha expressed gratitude to faculty members, students, and alumni for their efforts in organizing the Bangla New Year celebrations. She mentioned that preliminary activities have already commenced through various committees to ensure the success of the festival. The university administration is committed to celebrating the Bangla New Year in a peaceful, orderly, and festive atmosphere, she added. She urged everyone to extend full cooperation in this regard.
