Dhaka: Dhaka University (DU) and Nanjing University of China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to foster collaborative efforts in education and research. The MoU was signed at the office of the DU Vice-Chancellor, with DU VC Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan and Professor Tan Tieniu, Chairman of the CPC Council of Nanjing University, representing their respective institutions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, under the agreement, both universities will engage in joint scientific research and academic programs. The collaboration will include the exchange of educational resources, research equipment, data, and publications, as well as the mutual exchange of faculty, students, and researchers.
Additionally, DU and Nanjing University will co-host seminars, symposiums, and academic conferences. Expressing his appreciation, DU VC stated that Bangladesh and China share a deep-rooted friendship and that this MoU will not only bolster academic cooperation but also further strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.
He also emphasized the importance of expanding collaborative academic ventures with Chinese universities to promote deeper cultural and educational ties. Present at the signing ceremony were DU treasurer Professor M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, deans of various faculties, and members of the Nanjing University delegation.
