Dhaka: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) organized a training workshop titled “Basic Technical Analysis” aimed at enhancing the analytical skills of capital market investors. The event took place at the DSE Training Academy in the city from October 26 to November 5, as announced in a press release today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the training emphasized the importance of self-analysis abilities as a crucial factor for investment in the share market. Technical analysis, which is a key component in making investment decisions in the capital market, was a focal point of the workshop. It is grounded in the principle of price determination based on demand and supply and involves factors such as price movement, volume of trade, and other relevant subjects.
The workshop underscored that relying solely on fundamental analysis is inadequate for investing in the market. It highlighted the interconnected nature of technical and fundamental analysis, stressing that both are equally important. Technical analysis provides signals for making informed investment decisions.
The closing ceremony of the workshop, which included the distribution of certificates, was held on Wednesday. Professor Major General Mohammad Kamruzzaman (Retd.), PhD, Director of DSE, along with Syed Al Amin Rahman, Deputy General Manager of the DSE Training Academy, and Shamnune Bin Zafor, Managing Director of Fintelect Limited and a resource person, addressed the attendees.
Director Kamruzzaman emphasized the necessity of increasing investors’ knowledge and skills for the stability and development of the capital market. He advocated for building a strong and sustainable capital market through regular training, increased awareness, and informed, data-based decisions. He encouraged participants to apply the knowledge acquired in their real lives and highlighted the ongoing importance of such training programs.
The workshop covered critical topics for market professionals and investors, including technical analysis platforms, technical indicators, geometrical displays in technical analysis, trading systems, market analysis, and risk terminologies and risk management.
