Dhaka: Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has granted FIX certification to five more brokerage houses to enable them to launch their own Order Management Systems (OMS) through API connectivity with the bourse's trading system.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the newly-certified brokerage houses are Emperor Securities and Wealth Management Ltd., Global Securities Ltd., Md. Fakhrul Islam Securities Ltd., SIBL Securities Limited, and Stock and Bond Limited, as stated in a press release. DSE Chief Technology Officer Dr. Md Asifur Rahman presented the FIX certifications to representatives of the brokerage houses during a ceremony at the DSE boardroom.
DSE Acting Chief Financial Officer and General Manager Saiyid Mahmud Zubayer, Deputy General Manager Md Shafiqul Rahman, Jishan Muhammad Bin Hasan, and other senior DSE officials attended the event. DSE has been pursuing the initiative to introduce API-based Brokerage House Order Management System (BHOMS) since 2020. In response to this initiative, 93 brokerage houses applied to the DSE to connect their own OMS to the Nasdaq Matching Engine through API connectivity for trading.
With the addition of the five newly-certified firms, a total of 66 brokerage houses have received FIX certification. Of these, 56 have already launched their own OMS through API connectivity following certification.
