Dhaka: The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has efficiently completed the final disposal of 32,662 tonnes of sacrificial animal waste at the Matuail Landfill over the span of the last three days.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, DSCC reported that 14,814 tonnes of sacrificial waste were disposed of at the Matuail Landfill by 11:59 pm on the day of Eid. This marked the beginning of a coordinated waste management effort by the city corporation to handle the large volume of waste generated during the festivities.
A further 8,977 tonnes of waste were disposed of by 11:59 pm on the day following Eid. The DSCC continued its operations on the subsequent day, disposing of an additional 8,871 tonnes by 6 pm. This systematic approach ensured the swift and effective clearance of sacrificial waste, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the city.
