Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in a
drive, held a drug peddler with 42 kilograms (Kgs) of ganja from Madhobpur
upazila of the district last night.
The arrested was identified as Rupon Ali, 23, hailed from Bishwanath upazila
in Sylhet district.
Being informed, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in Dak Bungalow
area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway last night and nabbed Rupon with the
quantity of ganja, said Senior Assistant Police Super Afsan-Al-Alam, media
officer of the RAB-9, here today.
"A case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act," he said, adding that the
arrested person was handed over to Madhobpur Thana Police.
