Drive Against Illegal Sand Mining in Mirsarai, 9 Shallow Machines Destroyed

Mirsarai: A mobile court has carried out an operation to stop illegal sand mining in Mirsarai, Chattogram. During the operation, 1,200 feet of pipes and nine shallow machines were dismantled. The operation took place in the Alinagar Mollarghat and Chowdhuryghat regions of Karerhat Union today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the drive was led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tanvirul Quader, under the supervision of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Somaiya Akhter. Tanvirul Quader, the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Mirsarai Upazila, stated that illegal sand mining is disrupting the ecological balance and causing harm to the river and its surrounding areas.

Measures will be taken against anyone found involved in sand mining violating government regulations. The operation was supported by members of the Jorarganj Police Station.
