Tokyo:Dr. Zubaida Rahman, wife of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, visited a hospital, a community-based home-care nursing centre, and a museum in Tokyo as part of her engagements focusing on healthcare, elderly care, and Japanese culture during her visit to Japan.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Rahman began her day at the Fujita Health University Haneda Clinic located in Haneda Innovation City, where she was briefed on the advanced medical technologies and healthcare services offered by the clinic. She learned about their CT scanning facilities, including a rare scanner with only five units available worldwide, as well as PET-CT and MRI facilities. The clinic also demonstrated its use of robotic technology for collecting various types of samples.
Later in the day, Dr. Rahman visited the Hongo community-based home-care nursing centre, operated by the Sasakawa Health Foundation in Tokyo's Bunkyo-ku area. She toured the nursing and rehabilitation facilities and engaged with the staff to learn more about their activities.
Following her visit to the nursing center, Dr. Rahman spent time at the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno Park, where she viewed exhibits highlighting Japan's cultural heritage. In the afternoon, she interacted with representatives from the Sasakawa Peace Foundation before her courtesy call on Princess Takamado, a member of the Japanese imperial family.
