Dhaka: State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr MA Muhit today inaugurated the measles-rubella vaccination campaign in the capital. This special vaccination programme was launched at Ershad Maidan in Banani this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the inaugural session was presided over by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Imrul Kayes Chowdhury. The event was attended by several notable figures, including BNP National Executive Committee member Abdus Sattar Patwari, Local Government Division Secretary Md Shahidul Hassan, DNCC Administrator Md Shafiqul Islam Khan, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services Professor Dr Pravath Chandra Biswas, and DNCC Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Asaduzzaman.
The campaign aims to enhance immunization coverage and protect children from the measles and rubella viruses. The presence of key health officials and government representatives underscores the importance of this vaccination effort.
