Dhaka: Dr Kamal Hossain, a key architect of the Bangladesh constitution and emeritus president of Gonoforum, has been hospitalized at Square Hospital in the capital. Gonoforum Acting President Advocate Subrata Chowdhury shared that Dr Kamal Hossain has been suffering from lung-related complications.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Kamal Hossain was taken to Square Hospital on Friday after feeling unwell. Advocate Subrata Chowdhury mentioned that Dr Kamal’s physical condition is currently stable. He is being treated in the hospital’s High Dependency Unit (HDU), and after further observation, he may be moved to a cabin. Subrata also requested prayers from people across the country for Dr Kamal’s speedy recovery and sound health.
Dr Kamal Hossain, the founder of Gonoforum, last appeared in public on Wednesday when he attended the namaz-e-janaza of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia at Manik Mia Avenue. At 88 years old, Dr Kamal Hossain is a renowned jurist and constitutional expert. He served as the head of the committee that drafted the Constitution of Bangladesh in 1972.
