Dolpa Forest Fire Incident: Three army personnel dead

Of the four Nepali Army personnel who were hurt while dousing the forest fire at Masta community forest at Thulobheri Municipality-4 in Dolpa district, three died, according to the District Police Office, Dolpa. The deceased ones are Hemanta Rawal, 28, of Tatopani Rural Municipality-4 in Jumla and working at Devidutta Battalion in Dunai, Dolpa, Keshav Bahadur Magar, 38, of Kavrepalanchowk district and Ashish Budha, 23, of Humla district, informed Chief District Officer (CDO) in Dolpa, Tulsi Prasad Dahal. Rawal breathed his last on Monday while undergoing treatment at District Hospital and Magar died at Burn Hospital at Kirtipur in Kathmandu, added CDO Dahal. Injured in the incident, Bijay Koirala, 30, is currently undergoing treatment in Kathmandu, it was shared. Deceased Rawal's dead body was airlifted to his home in Jumla on Tuesday, said the District Police Office Dolpa. The Nepali Army personnel had gone to douse the fire on Monday. While containing the fire, they were in a stream and got injured when the fire moved towards them due to gusty wind. Source: National News Agency Nepal
