Documentary Exhibition on Khaleda Zia’s Life Inaugurated in Barishal

Barishal: A two-day documentary exhibition highlighting the life and political journey of former BNP Chairperson and three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia was inaugurated on Sunday afternoon at Bell’s Park in the city.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the exhibition, which started at 4:30 pm, was organized jointly by the Bogura Media and Cultural Society-Dhaka and Swadhinata Forum-Barishal. BNP National Executive Committee member Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that Begum Khaleda Zia never compromised on the principles of democracy, freedom of expression, and religious values in state governance. Despite facing political adversity, repression, and torture, she remained steadfast in her ideals, which earned her recognition as a stateswoman.



Muhammad Rahmatullah emphasized that the documentary exhibition would play a significant role in familiarizing the younger generation with Begum Zia’s political life, struggles, and ideals. The event was chaired by Alhaj Md Nurul Amin, convener of Swadhinata Forum-Barisal. Other notable attendees included Bogura Media and Cultural Society-Dhaka Finance Secretary Ishaq Asif, its Office Secretary SM Humayun Kabir, valiant freedom fighter and senior journalist Nurul Alam Farid, Barishal District Bar Association President Advocate Sadiqur Rahman Lincoln, and former General Secretary of Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) Barishal and President of Abdur Rahman Biswas Smriti Parishad Dr Aminul Haque.
