Rajshahi: Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, emphasized the importance of humane conduct in the medical profession during a ceremony at Rajshahi Medical College. Speaking as the chief guest at the oath-taking and orientation event for the 62nd MBBS batch of intern doctors at the Dr. Kaishar Rahman Chowdhury Auditorium, the Minister highlighted the prestige and nobility of the medical field.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Minister urged the newly inducted doctors to go beyond their academic achievements and build a rapport with patients through amiable and compassionate behaviour. He congratulated the young doctors and encouraged them to embody the values of honesty, dedication, and patriotism in their professional lives.
Mizanur Rahman Minu also called on the medical professionals to dedicate themselves to serving the helpless and maintaining the honour of Rajshahi Medical College, whose alumni have gained recognition both nationally and internationally. He outlined the government's initiatives to enhance the health sector in Rajshahi, including the establishment of a Dental Medical College and a specialized hospital in collaboration with the Chinese government.
Additionally, the Minister committed to completing the unfinished 12-storey hospital and ensuring the full operation of the Children's Hospital. The event was presided over by Brigadier General P K M Masud Ul Islam, Director of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, and attended by distinguished guests including Dr. Wasim Hossain, Professor Dr. Mofakharul Islam, Professor Dr. Khandaker Faisal Alam, and Professor Dr. Zahirul Haque.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of officials, doctors, teachers, guardians, local leaders, and media personnel, marking the occasion where 216 intern doctors took their professional oath.
