Pirojpur: A doa mahfil and discussion meeting took place in Pirojpur district, seeking eternal peace for the late Begum Khaleda Zia, who served as the country’s Prime Minister three times. The event was organized at the Gopal Krishna Town Club’s tennis ground, initiated by the district unit of Chhatra Dal at 12 noon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BNP Central Executive Committee Organising Secretary for Barishal Division, Advocate Bilkis Jahan Shirin, addressed the meeting as the chief guest. Other notable speakers included Principal Alamgir Hossain, former district BNP convener and BNP-nominated candidate for Pirojpur-1 constituency, district BNP Member Secretary Saidul Islam Kismat, and Joint Convener Elijah Zaman.
Central Chhatra Dal Vice Presidents Hafizur Rahman Sohan and Jewel Mridha, Joint General Secretary Shakil Ahmed, and Deputy General Secretary Al Amin Hossain also spoke during the event. Leaders and activists from the district, municipal, and seven upazila units of BNP and Chhatra Dal attended in large numbers.
District Chhatra Dal President Salauddin Talukder Kumar presided over the programme, while General Secretary Mahmud Hasan Shahin conducted it.
