Bagerhat: A doa mahfil and discussion meeting took place at Kaber Battala in Rakhalgachi Union of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila this evening, with the purpose of praying for the swift recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was led by Rakhalgachi Union BNP President Fakir Al Mamun. It featured Bagerhat District BNP Convener Engineer AT M Akram Hossain Talim as the chief guest, with former district BNP President MA Salam attending as the special guest.
After the discussion, Hafez Maulana Nazrul Islam conducted prayers seeking Khaleda Zia's recovery. It was highlighted by speakers that Khaleda Zia is currently receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, where her condition is critical. They mentioned that prayers are being conducted nationally, with milad and charity events set to continue in Bagerhat until her health improves.
The gathering saw the participation of District BNP Member Secretary and freedom fighter Mozaffar Rahman Alam, Joint Convener Khadem Neyamul Nasir Alap, Joint Secretary Shamsher Ali Mohan, and Bagerhat Sadar Upazila BNP President Syed Nasir Ahmed Malek. Activists from district and upazila BNP units, along with affiliated bodies, were also in attendance at the program.
