Satkhira:A doa mahfil was held in Satkhira today to mark the eighth death anniversary of former minister and BNP standing committee member Tariqul Islam. The event took place at the Satkhira Public Library and was organized by the Satkhira Sadar Upazila and municipality units of the BNP.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the former mayor of Satkhira Municipality and BNP District Joint Convener Taskin Ahmed Chishti attended the programme as the chief guest. During the event, the political life and contributions of Tariqul Islam to the country and the BNP were remembered, and a special prayer was offered for the eternal peace of his departed soul.
Satkhira District Krishak Dal Member Secretary Rabiul Islam presided over the programme, with speeches delivered by Satkhira District Olama Dal Member Secretary Saifullah Al Kafi, Sadar Upazila Krishak Dal President Anarul Islam, and Fingri Union BNP General Secretary Nurnabi Khan Mithu.
