Dhaka:Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md Shafiqul Islam Khan has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the quality of footpaths for city residents in the near future.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the DNCC aims to clear roads and footpaths of hawkers daily and deliver aesthetically pleasing footpaths to the public. This announcement was made during the launch of the Family Card programme data collection in Mirpur-13, part of a broader national social safety initiative.

The administrator highlighted the Family Card programme as a key promise from the BNP election manifesto, describing it as a gift from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He warned that any party member attempting to engage in irregularities with the programme would face consequences.

He stressed the importance of ensuring the right families receive the Family Cards, emphasizing no discrimination or division within the programme. The administrator also outlined that party nominations for upcoming city corporation elections would favor those involved in service-oriented activities, such as dengue control, waste management, and other public service initiatives aligned with the vision of a 'Clean Dhaka, Green Dhaka'.

Furthermore, a team of 1,917 volunteers will assist in gathering and maintaining data for the Family Card programme. The administrator cautioned against any clandestine group members who might attempt to falsify information or create confusion during this process, promising strict action against such activities.
