Dhaka: As part of anti-crime drives, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has recovered 63 stolen vehicles and 2,007 mobile phone sets in the city in July.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP’s different police stations and other units, following intelligence reports, conducted various drives across the capital in July and recovered the stolen vehicles and mobile phone sets. A media and public relations division statement from the DMP highlighted these efforts.
The statement revealed that a total of 50 vehicle theft incidents were reported in the capital during July. Following these incidents, the DMP carried out coordinated operations, leading to the recovery of 63 stolen vehicles. The recovered vehicles included motorcycles and other motor vehicles, with 49 recovered by different police stations and 14 by the Detective Branch (DB).
Meanwhile, the DMP’s different units also conducted separate operations to recover mobile phone sets reported lost or stolen. A total of 2,007 mobile phone sets were recovered during July and returned to their rightful owners, the statement said.
The DMP emphasized its commitment to continue people-oriented activities, including preventing crime, recovering stolen property, and returning lost belongings to citizens.
