Dhaka: The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,228 cases in a single day across the capital for violating traffic rules.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this information was confirmed in a press release signed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP. The release stated that the DMP Traffic Division filed these cases and collected fines through a regular drive against traffic rule violators on May 31.
In addition to the cases, a total of 79 vehicles were dumped, and 99 others were towed during the operation. The press release further mentioned that such drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.
The DMP Traffic Division aims to streamline the traffic system in the capital, ensuring safer and smoother movement for residents.
