DMP Files 976 Cases in Drives Against Traffic Law Violation

Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) traffic divisions have filed a total of 976 cases against violations of traffic laws in one day on February 28. ‘The DMP campaign against traffic rule violations in the city aims to bring the traffic system under proper management,’ a DMP statement issued by its spokesman Muhammad Talebur Rahman.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the campaign led to 375 motor vehicles being dumped and 220 vehicles being wrecked for traffic rules violations. Several units of the traffic divisions conducted the drives as part of the ongoing effort.



DMP’s Ramna traffic division filed 62 cases, Lalbagh division registered 37 cases, Motijheel division filed 63 cases, Wari division filed 60 cases, Tejgaon division filed 43 cases, Mirpur division filed 342 cases, Uttara division filed 224 cases, and Gulshan traffic division registered 145 cases during the last one day of traffic management activities.



The release further stated that the campaign against traffic violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka’s streets.
