DMP Files 2,480 Cases for Traffic Rules Violation

Dhaka: The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has registered a total of 2,480 cases related to traffic rule violations, including instances of driving in the wrong direction, across the capital city.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, on May 5, the DMP traffic division initiated 158 cases specifically targeting motor vehicles and their drivers for the offense of driving in the wrong direction. Additionally, 2,322 cases were filed for various other violations of traffic regulations.



A DMP release indicated that during the enforcement operation, 270 vehicles were removed from the roads, and 138 were wrecked. The release also mentioned that these operations targeting traffic rule violators will persist in an effort to maintain order on Dhaka’s streets.
