DMP Files 2,266 Cases During Drives Against Traffic Law Violation

Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) traffic divisions filed a total of 2,366 cases against traffic law violations in a single day on January 4. The campaign is part of an effort to bring the city’s traffic system under proper management, as stated in a DMP announcement by spokesman Muhammad Talebur Rahman.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation resulted in 338 motor vehicles being dumped and 203 vehicles being wrecked. Several units from the traffic divisions participated in the enforcement drives. The Wari traffic division recorded the highest number of cases at 602, followed by the Motijheel traffic division with 310 cases. Other divisions also contributed significantly, with Tejgaon filing 254 cases, Mirpur 399 cases, Gulshan 169 cases, Uttara 321 cases, Ramna 132 cases, and Lalbagh 179 cases.



The initiative to control traffic violations is set to continue, aiming to maintain discipline on Dhaka’s streets.
