Dhaka: The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken significant action against traffic rule violations, filing 2,208 cases against motor vehicles in a single day throughout the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this enforcement effort was executed through regular drives conducted on Monday (September 29), as stated in a media release from the DMP. The campaign aimed to address and penalize those breaking traffic regulations, with fines being collected as a result of these violations.
The Deputy Commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP, Talebur Rahman, reported that a total of 418 motor vehicles were impounded and 106 vehicles were towed due to inadequate driving practices. The media release emphasized that these enforcement drives will continue to maintain order on city streets and to facilitate smoother traffic flow, thereby ensuring easier movement for city residents.
