Dhaka: The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,714 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in the capital. The DMP’s initiative aims to bring the city’s traffic system under proper management.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP has been conducting a campaign against traffic violations in the city. A statement issued by the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division, signed by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman, detailed the actions taken. The campaign led to the impounding of 361 motor vehicles and the seizure of 198 vehicles on January 3.
The statement also indicated that different traffic divisions carried out the drives across the capital. The Motijheel Traffic Division filed 240 cases, Wari 343 cases, Tejgaon 171 cases, Mirpur 348 cases, Gulshan 115 cases, Uttara 291 cases, Ramna 88 cases, and Lalbagh 118 cases against motor vehicles, three-wheelers, and motorcycles.
