Dhaka: As part of the ongoing campaign to bring the traffic system under control, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1445 cases against vehicles, owners, and its drivers for violating traffic rules. This information was confirmed in a press release issued here today signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP Traffic Division filed these cases and realized fines on March 16 through a regular drive against traffic rules breakers. The DMP release stated that 222 motor vehicles were dumped and 71 vehicles were towed during the campaign against traffic rule violations.
The press release further mentioned that these drives against traffic rule breakers will continue in order to ensure discipline on Dhaka’s streets. The DMP Traffic Division has been working to make traffic systems smooth in the capital to provide city dwellers with easy movement.
