Dhaka: The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,228 cases in a single day across the capital for violating traffic rules.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this information was confirmed in a press release signed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.
The press release detailed that the DMP Traffic Division conducted a regular drive against traffic rules violators on May 31, resulting in the filing of these cases and the realization of fines. During the operation, a total of 79 vehicles were dumped, and 99 others were towed.
The statement emphasized that such drives against traffic rule violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka’s streets. The DMP Traffic Division is focused on bringing the traffic system under smooth operation in the capital to ensure safer and smoother movement for residents.
