Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1,228 cases across the capital for violating traffic rules.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP Traffic Division filed those cases on March 3 during a regular drive against traffic rules breakers.
The press release stated that DMP traffic police dumped 474 motor vehicles and towed 271 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rules violation on March 3. The DMP’s release further mentioned that these drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka’s streets for ensuring city dwellers’ easy movement.
In terms of division-specific actions, Ramna division filed 85 cases, Lalbagh division registered 87 cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 94 cases, Wari division registered 129 cases, Tejgaon division filed 102 cases, Mirpur division filed 165 cases, Uttara division registered 284 cases, and Gulshan division filed 282 cases. These cases were filed against motor vehicles, three-wheelers, and motorcycles.
