Dhaka:Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted extensive anti-crime operations across the capital, resulting in the arrest of 544 individuals and the filing of 62 cases within the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, multiple police units were involved in the operations. Arrests included 41 by the Ramna division, 42 by Lalbagh, 95 by Wari, 44 by Motijheel, 59 by Tejgaon, 144 by Mirpur, 55 by Gulshan, 49 by Uttara, and 13 by the Detective Branch (DB).
During the operations, the police seized a variety of illegal items, including 6,258 yaba tablets, 540 grams of cannabis, eight purias of heroin, 37 pethidine injections, two knives, and two cutters. These efforts are part of the DMP's ongoing strategy to maintain law and order and reduce criminal activities in the city. Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are currently in progress.
