Rajshahi: Divisional-level Inter-college Football Tournament 2025 organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports began here today through a colorful opening ceremony. Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dr. ANM Bazlur Rashid inaugurated the event at Liberation War Memorial Stadium by releasing balloons and festoons into the sky this morning as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the five-day tournament features top-ranking 16 college teams from all eight districts of the division. The tournament is being conducted on a knockout basis at two venues: Rajshahi Freedom Fighters Memorial Stadium and the Government Physical Education College playground, concluding on December 22.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr. Muhammad Shahjahan, Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Dr. Zillur Rahman, and Additional Commissioners of Rajshahi division Rezaul Alam Sarker and Habibur Rahman attended the event. Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Dr. Bazlur Rashid expressed hope that the tournament would provide a significant platform for young players. He emphasized the aim to manage the tournament with discipline and a festive spirit.
