Bandarban: The district administration has ordered the immediate closure of all illegal and unauthorized brick kiln activities in the district. This decisive action aims to address environmental concerns and ensure compliance with existing regulations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this decision has been taken in accordance with the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act, 2013 (Amended 2019). The directive, issued on Tuesday, aligns with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change’s directive dated July 24, 2025.
In a public notice signed by Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ara Rini, it was stated that the directive is being implemented to control air pollution and protect the biodiversity of the hill region. The notice also emphasized that strict action will be taken against those who disobey the directive as per the law.
