Rangamati: Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Dipen Dewan was born on June 8, 1963, in a political family in the Rangamati district. His mother, Mohini Dewan, was a homemaker, while his father, the late Subimal Dewan, served as an adviser on Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs with the rank of minister under Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. He was also the founding General Secretary and former President of BNP in Rangamati district, a handout said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dipen Dewan has made significant contributions to national politics and established himself as a prominent leader. His organisational skills were evident from his student life, which later laid the foundation for his political career.
Dipen Dewan is a senior politician and a prominent leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He contested the 13th national election from Rangamati Hill District under constituency No. 299 and was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP).
